Reports reaching our desk have it confirmed that Geoffrey Oloya, the first recipient of the ‘Nabbanja money has been arrested.
It is said that Oloya was arrested on Tuesday 7th September 2021.
Oloya was the first recipient of the Ugx 100,000 COVID-19 relief which was sent through mobile money to the vulnerable Ugandans hit harder by pandemic from the office of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister together with other Ministers later called Oloya through his mobile phone who confirmed the receiving of the funds.
Information was later reported that the recipient was not a vulnerable and was a alleged to be an official in Gulu city.
Days after, Gulu City officials told MPs that they don’t know him and the number that was called has been off since he received the money
