NEWS- One person died and another one seriously injured, around 11:20am yesterday 21th December 2021, following a fatal accident at Kihunga cell along Rukungiri Ntungamo road.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson identified the deceased as John Tumwine a 23 years old man and a boda boda cyclist a resident of Kamuli cell, Rwentondo ward Eastern Division in rukungiri municipality.
Maate narrated that this serious road accident which later turned fatal involved two Bajaj boxer motorcycles registration number UET 228 A and UFF 194 G.
He explained that the rider of motorcycle registration number UET 228A knocked UFF 194G from behind causing serious injuries to both riders who were rushed to Nyakibale hospital for medical attention.
However the rider who knocked from behind (Tumwine) was pronounced dead at around 2:30pm.
According to Maate, both motorcycles were impounded pending IOV inspection and the body was by press time still at Nyakibale hospital mortuary pending postmortem examination.
The case has been recorded at Rukungiri CPS on file number TAR 80/2021 and inquiries are at hand.
He confided to our reporter that the cause of the accident was reckless ridding by the deceased.
