Two men apprehended for stealing road sign posts in Kabale


On Tuesday, police in Kabale conducted an operation and detained two people for allegedly stealing and vandalizing road furniture that was discovered beside them.

According to a spokesman for the Elly Maate Kigezi area police, the suspects are Martin Ainaani, who works at the Sabena washing bay at the Rwakaraba cell Northern division of Kabale municipality, and Nicholas Amanya, who is 22 years old.

Maate said that the operation began yesterday morning at around 10:00 a.m. from Sabena Washing Bay and that the suspects were apprehended based on an intelligence tip.

They claimed to have shut them off from the road with the intention of selling them to scrap merchants.

Journalists were informed by Maate that such activities will continue to prevent vandalism and theft
